ABloomberg reports that Apple plans to revolutionize its operating systems' design and user experience through the next versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. The redesign intends to create a seamless user experience throughout Apple's software ecosystem by standardizing elements such as icons and menus with apps and system controls. The upcoming changes will incorporate design elements from visionOS because this mixed-reality operating system for the Vision Pro headset displays translucency with floating interface elements and rounded app icons. Bloomberg has highlighted that Apple has not made significant software appearance changes since the launch of iOS 7 and macOS Big Sur. The 2013 launch of iOS 7 brought Apple its first operating system version supervised by former Chief Design Officer Jony Ive while the 2020 introduction of Big Sur created the first macOS version capable of running iPad applications and tailored for Apple's custom silicon. The upcoming releases of iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16 appear to show limited changes aside from the continued development of Apple Intelligence before it becomes fully implemented across all apps. The release of iOS 18 brought Apple Intelligence with AI tools for handling audio files, images, and text documents together with a new Siri version that performs app interactions through user commands. Apple has already released most features except for the new Siri which they have announced will arrive in the upcoming year.
