According to a report by The Verge, Google is integrating the premium features from NotebookLM Plus into its One AI Premium monthly subscription plan. This update includes more customization options, higher usage limits, and enhanced security.
For those unfamiliar, NotebookLM has been around since 2023, with the Plus plan launched in December of last year. This application serves as an AI-powered research assistant and note-taking app, but it is not merely trained on generic internet content like standard LLMs.
Instead, users can populate their "notebooks" with data, and the app transforms them into interactive databases. From there, users can ask questions and receive answers complete with citations, create FAQs, or obtain one-click summaries. Additionally, users can generate Audio Overviews where two AI hosts discuss key topics like a podcast.

For example, a student could load a notebook with all the essays they’ve read over the course of a semester and then use it to find lost quotes, common arguments, or conflicting opinions.
